Condos and older buildings
In 1924 Brookline moved to allow only single-family housing in most of the town. Many of its apartment buildings were built before that change. Older buildings often have an older garage door. If you live in a condo or an apartment building the garage door may be shared. Cottage Farm is a historic district. If your home is in a historic district ask the town before you change how a door looks.
Garage door services in Brookline
Condo and house garages need different things.
- Opener repair. A shared door opens many times a day. Remotes and sensors wear first.
- Spring repair. A broken spring stops the door for everyone who uses it.
- Emergency repair. A shared door that fails can block every car behind it.
- New door installation. A like-for-like swap is simpler than a new style. Ask the town first in a historic district.
- Panel repair. A bumped panel in a tight garage can sometimes be repaired.
Also available: cable repair and off-track repair and opener installation and noisy door repair and emergency installation.
